Angenehmes Ferienhaus in Challerange

Mooi ruim huis, met tuin en terras. De inrichting is wat gedateerd. We misten wat materieel in de keuken. Het huis is gelegen in een rustig dorpje waar alleen een bakker is.

A very spacious holiday home on the edge of the French Ardennes. In the village itself there is not much activity apart from a bakery, but the neighborhood looks neat. There are large supermarkets in Vouziers about fifteen minutes away. In addition to the nearby zoo, there are many opportunities for walking and historical sites from WWI in the immediate vicinity. There are also some other nice trips within a driving distance of about 30-60 minutes, the location is fine for a week, certainly combined with a day in Reims. The house was basically clean and usable, it even feels more spacious than expected based on the m2. Fairly new house, with things like a washing machine, dishwasher and 2 good showers, clearly an advantage of this house. We were with 4, but there are more places to sleep (2x2p, 1x 1.5-2p with a baby/toddler bed and 1x1.5p). The mattress protector was not a good combination with the warm weather, it felt too 'plastic'. A mattress topper is a better option for protection. The glassware, plates, cutlery etc. were fine for 4p, with more I think you will quickly run out. Moreover, not in new condition, everything is usable but you should really go through it with a critical eye. The BBQ (dirty) and bicycles (flat tires) turned out to be unusable. I would advise to make the garden/deck a bit more furnished and usable, it is now quite bare and a bistro set for 2, is a bit limited with a family. All in all a positive experience.

Ein sehr geräumiges Ferienhaus am Rande der französischen Ardennen. Im Dorf selbst ist abgesehen von einer Bäckerei nicht viel los, aber die Nachbarschaft sieht ordentlich aus. Große Supermärkte gibt es in Vouziers, etwa 15 Minuten entfernt. Neben dem nahegelegenen Zoo gibt es in unmittelbarer Nähe viele Möglichkeiten zum Spazierengehen und historische Stätten aus dem Ersten Weltkrieg. Es gibt auch einige andere schöne Ausflüge in einer Fahrdistanz von etwa 30-60 Minuten, die Lage ist für eine Woche in Ordnung, sicherlich kombiniert mit einem Tag in Reims. Das Haus war grundsätzlich sauber und benutzbar, es fühlt sich sogar geräumiger an als erwartet, basierend auf der m2. Ziemlich neues Haus, mit Dingen wie einer Waschmaschine, einem Geschirrspüler und 2 guten Duschen, eindeutig ein Vorteil dieses Hauses. Wir waren mit 4, aber es gibt mehr Schlafplätze (2x2p, 1x 1,5-2p mit einem Baby-/Kleinkindbett und 1x1,5p). Der Matratzenschoner war keine gute Kombination mit dem warmen Wetter, er fühlte sich zu „plastisch“ an. Eine Matratzenauflage ist eine bessere Option zum Schutz. Das Glasgeschirr, die Teller, das Besteck usw. waren für 4 Pence in Ordnung, bei mehr wird es wohl schnell ausgehen. Außerdem ist alles nicht mehr in neuem Zustand, es ist brauchbar, aber man sollte es wirklich mit kritischem Blick durchgehen. Der Grill (schmutzig) und die Fahrräder (platte Reifen) erwiesen sich als unbrauchbar. Ich würde empfehlen, den Garten/das Deck etwas möblierter und nutzbarer zu machen, es ist jetzt ziemlich kahl und ein Bistro für 2 ist mit einer Familie etwas eingeschränkt. Alles in allem eine positive Erfahrung.
